Gone But Not Forgotten…

This display of flags was very moving and is another reminder of how thankful I am to all of the men and women who have fought and are still fighting to keep our country free. There are a total of 1,748 flags — each one in memory of a local man or woman taken as a prisoner of war or missing in action during the Vietnam War. Each flag was tied with a yellow ribbon and has a name on it.

Determination

Last weekend the Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Mentoring Organization held a Truck Pull Fundraiser. Teams of 12 pulled an 18-wheeler 75 feet. Each team member was be asked to raise $100 for the kids of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Prizes were given to the team that raised the most money and the team that crossed the finish line with the best time.
